King of Pop Dies in Los Angeles

Michael Jackson, the self proclaimed King of Pop, died this afternoon of an apparent Heart Attack at the age of 50.   He was preparing for a series of fifty concerts in London next month.

Jackson began performing with his brothers in 1969 at the age of 11. The Jackson Five were hugely popular in the early seventies recording hit records and their own Saturday morning cartoon.

In 1983 Jackson teamed up with Paul McCartney for "The Girl is Mine" and "Say Say Say".  During this period of friendship McCartney shared with Jackson his desire to gain ownership to the rights of the remaining Beatles songs owned by Northern Music.  Jackson outbid McCartney and so did their friendship.  An article recently purported that Michael Jackson had bequeathed his Beatle's Music Catalogue to Paul McCartney in an attempt to mend their friendship.

According to Wikipedia, LAPD Detectives have opened an investigation into Jackson's death and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
