The Didjits increased the energy level for their second record, Hey Judester, and, accordingly, increased their notoriety outside of the Chicago area for being obnoxious twerps. The blatant exhibitionism on the opening track (about a young hot-rodder zooming down the highway getting head from some whore) is more howlin' than anything on the previous album, but unfortunately the feeling isn't sustained. Instead, we get cryptic lyrics and/or tepid riffs. Hey Judester takes a somewhat improved step, but still illustrates The Didjits' desperate search for their own sound. Read More
